Introducing our new Music Director, Dr. Jeff de Seriere!
After the announcement of the departure of our founding Music Director, Dr. Craig McKenzie, the band quickly got to work formulating the process for how we would be able to find the next Music Director in the history of the San Francisco Brass Band. After seven months of strategizing, flying the position, interviewing, test rehearsals with the band, and hundreds of google form submissions with member feedback; we have our next director.

When asked about what excites him the most about working with SFBB, he says: “From the very first rehearsal with SFBB, I knew that every member was there for the right reasons. The ensemble is comprised of stellar musicians, and even better people. That is a rare thing to come by. Pairing that with their passion and commitment leads to an unbridled potential that is incredibly exciting to be a part of. Making great music with great people…what could be better?”
Please give a warm welcome to Dr. de Seriere, we are so excited for him to start working with the band and lead us on this next phase of our organization’s journey.
